This razor feels substantial in your hand. I snapped a Rapira blade in two and insert it in the razor. The blade aligns up easily. There is a small amount of blade feel and I wouldn't call this a mild razor. However it does a nice job with almost no hand pressure. The angle is almost intuitive and the shave is very comfortable. Twice the rinsing than a DE blade obviously. It was the handle that caused me the most experimentation, but oddly enough I found when both my hand and handle were wet , it was the easiest to maneuver. I trim around a goatee and this is the right tool for that job. You can't go wrong for 38 bucks especially if you previous razor was a disposable cartridge type.
