Proraso began at the turn of the twentieth century, founded by Ludovico Martelli in 1908. In 1948 this small lab in Florence experimented with formulas to create new products during the era when Pre and After Shave Creams began to take off and was embraced by Italian barbers and then by home shavers. Proraso continues to manufacture fine grooming products under the Martelli’s direction.
