Blade Balance Is off.

Let me start off by saying Pasteur's is wonderful! I love shopping their online store for shaving gear. They have a great selection of some top-notch wet shaving items. So, what I am about to say is not a reflection on them. This is something Pasteur's really have no control over.

I purchased this razor with the intention of correcting a problem with a previously gifted Dorato Grande. A friend sent me a Fatip Dorato Grande about a year or so ago. The blade balance was significantly off, making the razor unusable.

So, when the opportunity arose to purchase new Dorato Grande, I thought I'd be getting a razor without any of the blade imbalance. I was looking forward to having an extra handle and base plate. With the first razor, the problem appears to be with the cap. It's machined lop-sided. It's short on one side making for a large amount of blade exposure and far too long on the other almost covering the blade edge. One side shaves aggressively, the other side, not at all, if barely

When the new Dorato Grande arrived, the same problem is apparent, although not as glaringly as the first razor. There is blade imbalance. I can shave with this one, but I do feel the blade imbalance. However, I could keep the razor and perhaps use it as I would a razor with an asymmetrical razor head. But with a balanced blade, I know the shave will be perfect, right in my sweet spot. So, I'm not sure If I should return for a replacement or simply keep it.

It's a beautiful razor. I love my Fatip Open Comb razors. None of those razors have any blade imbalance at all. So, I am scratching my head as to how a Closed Comb razor from Fatip could have this slight Q/C issue.

Again, Pasteur's is not to blame. I guess Fatip just had a couple of slightly inferior razors sneak through their Q/C and they ended up in my shave den.
