I remember as a kid visiting my grandparents in small town USA. Eagle Lake Texas to be exact. The post office is the center of town. Around it is buildings that back in its glory days would have been filled with shops that provided so much to its community. Today though many are empty. The barbershop is still there though. When I was a kid my dad would take us to the barber that cut his hair when he was growing up. Walking in you could just smell that classic scent. The shop filled with powdery oakmoss, rosemary and even a hint a lemon. All the local old men sitting in there talking about sports or politics. It was just a gathering spot to discuss whatever. The barber would always say to us, "Well, you came to get your ears chopped off huh? Well I am the barrbarr for ya!". So this soap is our version of the classic barbershop scent. The one I remember as a kid.

I’ve been using Moon shave soaps for a couple of years and I’ve been very happy with every one I’ve tried. Barbershop scent is my favorite shaving scent so I had to give Barrbarr a try. No surprise at how easy it is to develop a lather and like all the Moon soaps I use, it provides a slick cushion and a great post shave feel. This one will be in my daily rotation.
Despite the fact that the shaving soap industry is inundated with barbershop scented shave soaps, I still like to see if there is a version that can compete with my favorite from Stirling. It’s definitely a close 2nd! 🙂
An excellent shaving soap, offers great performance from the start along with a soft, soothing barbershop scent almost reminiscent of cookies. Fragrance isn't ever too strong or harsh.
The Noble Otter base loads well from the tub without any blooming, and face lathers very easily. Good performance without needing a ton of water, but the glide gets even better when you give it more hydration.
