Murphy & Mcneil Ogham Stone Shaving Soap

Ogham ('oh-am') represents the earliest form of writing in Ireland. Made up of a series of lines or "strokes" creating an alphabet, they can be found on ancient wood and primitive written texts. Most famously however, Ogham can be found throughout Ireland carved into monolithic stones. These stones, often standing sentry in commemoration of a loved one or as a territorial marker, are a fascinating piece of ancient history. Many like to believe that Ogham is connected to Druidic practice, and that it is a "language of the trees" or perhaps even part of runic divination. While there is little proof that Ogham is connected to these mystic arts, it can be difficult to argue that these stones have a certain magic about them.

The fragrance of our Ogham Stone collection is meant to evoke the aura of wet stone and earth on the rainy countryside. While familiar, this is a mysterious scent that also seeks to find the magic of Ogham that we want to believe.

This Shaving Soap by Murphy and McNeil is composed of a mix of high quality oils and ingredients that create a dense, creamy lather for an excellent shave.

  1. Wet your face: Thoroughly wet your face with warm water to soften your beard hairs.
  2. Apply soap: Take a small amount of the shaving soap and apply it to your wet face. You can use a shaving brush to lather the soap, which will help to create a richer and denser lather.
  3. Lather: Using circular motions, lather the soap on your face until you achieve a desired consistency.
  4. Shave: Gently shave your beard using your preferred razor. Rinse the razor blade frequently to prevent clogging.
  5. Rinse: After shaving, rinse your face with warm water to remove any remaining soap residue.
  6. Moisturize: Apply a moisturizing aftershave balm to soothe your skin and prevent irritation.
