A relic of an older time in Barrister and Mann's history, Taiga was originally created as a member of our "Latha" line of soaps. Simple, forthright, a combination of pine, balsam, and cedar, this is the scent of an alpine reach, the evergreen treetops dusted with snow. Taiga is a perennial favorite of our packing team (who laid claim to a few jars before we had ever even made it) and is uniquely suited to long, cold Winters held back by warm fireplaces and hot drinks.

Size: 4oz Net Wt.

Made in USA

Invigorating Scent: Awaken your senses with the crisp, clean fragrance of pine, balsam, and cedar, reminiscent of a winter forest.

Rich Lather: Creates a luxurious lather for a close, comfortable shave.

Evokes Feelings of Warmth: Perfect for the cold winter months, conjures images of crackling fireplaces and cozy nights in.

Aqua (Water), Potassium Stearate, Glycerin, Potassium Tallowate, Parfum (Fragrance Oil), Sodium Stearate, Garcinia indica Seed Butter (Potassium Kokum Butterate), Polyacrylamidomethylpropane Sulfonic Acid, Cocos nucifera Fruit Juice (Coconut Milk), Sodium Tallowate, Potassium Ricinoleate, Sodium Lactate, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea) Butter, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Xanthan Gum, Theobroma grandiflorum (Cupuaçu) Seed Butter, Sodium Cocoa (Kokum) Butterate, Potassium Cocoate, Hydroxethylcellulose, Sodium Ricinolate, Saccharide Isomerate, Caprae Lac (Goat Milk) Powder, Persea gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Sodium Cocoate, Althaea officinalis (Marshmallow) Root Extract, Ulmus rubra (Slippery Elm) Extract

Wet your shaving brush thoroughly with warm water. Hold the bristles under running water and gently swirl them to distribute the water evenly. Aim for a good soaking, not dripping.

Load the brush. There are two methods:

Bowl Lathering: Squeeze some shaving soap onto the bottom of your shaving bowl or mug. With the wet brush, swirl it on the soap puck in a circular motion for 30-60 seconds. You'll see the lather begin to build. Add a few drops of water periodically to maintain a creamy consistency.

Face Lathering: Apply a thin layer of shaving soap directly to your shaving area using the wet brush. With the brush, gently swirl the soap on your face in a circular motion, creating a lather. This method may require more practice to achieve a good lather.

Build the lather. Continue swirling the brush in your bowl or on your face until you achieve a thick, creamy lather. It should have a consistency similar to whipped cream.

Apply the lather to your shaving area. Use a brush to spread the lather evenly over your shaving area in a circular motion. Aim for a light, opaque layer.

Shave. Using a sharp razor, shave with the grain (the direction your beard hair grows). Rinse the razor frequently to remove any shaving cream buildup. You may consider a second pass against the grain for a closer shave, but be cautious to avoid irritation.

Rinse and pat dry. Rinse your face with cool water to remove the shaving cream. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.

Smells like a Canadian Pine Forest. It is also not too strong of a scent.

Performance is fantastic, I can't imagine anyone not liking this scent. It's like walking through a Canadian forest.

I'm really pleased to be able to obtain this soap. I had picked up a few B&M Latha soaps when they were available. I had every intention of picking up Taiga, but the Latha line was discontinued. So with this release I was finally able to pick up Taiga. Great pine balsam forest type scent. Doesn't smell synthetic like. To have it in the omnibus base is outstanding.
