Mason Pearson B4 Hairbrush
B stands for boar bristle, while 4 refers to the extra small size of the brush: Mason Pearson has created this genius B4 hairbrush, which is perfect to follow you on the go. The brush’s hair is 100% boar bristle, and therefore it is most suitable for hair that is thin to normal. The boar bristle hair is stiff, and therefore the brush can easily be used for long hair as well.

Spreads out natural oils
B4 from Mason Pearson does wonders for your hair – exactly like the other brushes from the English brand. When you brush your hair using B4, you stimulate and massage the scalp. The stiff boar bristle hairs of the brush help to spread out the scalp’s natural oils. These oils add glow and volume to the lengths of the hair, which is in need of the oils in order to keep a natural glow. If you go through your hair with the brush 100 times each day, Mason Pearson claims that your hair gets the optimum amount of oils.

Mason Pearson: Revolution since day 1
Back in 1885 when the founder himself, Mason Pearson, created the very first brushes, they turned out to be the start of a new hair brush revolution: the brushes quickly got attention from all the women’s magazines and ever since, men and women from all over the world have been using hair brushes from Mason Pearson. A lot has happened since 1885, but the family business promises that the originality and quality have remained as at the very beginning.

Small, but mighty! Game changer for problematic hair and scalp.

(TL, DR; brush is worth every penny; nice stiff bristles; works wonders on scalp; not too small to be useful.) I grew up next to the Pacific Ocean on the West Coast, and moved to the arid, landlocked Midwest a decade ago. I lost a good deal of hair soon after, and my scalp has suffered ever since the move. I've seen multiple doctors, and spent I don't want to guess how many hundreds of dollars on medicated shampoos, scalp oils, serums, etc. No matter what I tried, the strange, granular dry layer I have had on my troubled scalp since I arrived here has persisted. I brush my scalp to exfoliate it every morning and evening with the best boar bristle brush I could afford, and use scalp scrubs to try to clear up the problem, but nothing improves the condition for long. I researched Mason Pearson boar bristle brushes, and read about how regular brushing with one of them improves scalp health. I purchased this size as it was affordable. The measurement of the pad of the brush with the bristles is 2" wide by 4" long, which is plenty big enough to be effective. So it's not like it is a toy brush, or something. It's compact, but is a decent sized brush. I am not exaggerating when I say when this brush’s bristles touched my scalp for the first time, it was as if I could hear a heavenly chorus. Here, FINALLY, was the scalp exfoliation I had been seeking all these years! No boar bristle brush I have ever used- even the pricey ones I had invested in that claimed to be made of "finest, first cut boar bristles"- got down to my scalp and exfoliated the way this little brush immediately did. I just wish I had found this brush sooner! I have fine, color treated shoulder length hair, graying at the roots. It is curly, on the dry side, and tangles pretty easily. My scalp and hair felt pampered by this brush. Everything about the brush was conveying quality. It glided through my hair without snarling, and I could tell it was distributing scalp oils to the ends. After a few moments of brushing, my hair was even starting to feel flowy. My hair has not felt "flowy" for a long, long time. I'm not trying to claim this brush instantly cured my scalp condition, and gave me the shiny, flowing locks of a fifteen year old. But I did experience a profoundly positive change, in both my scalp and hair, after ONE brushing session with it. To me- that is huge. While brushing, I suddenly recalled watching my mother brush her hair every night before she went to bed, with head down, then flipping her hair back up, with a boar bristle brush. I have inherited her fine, curly hair. She had a nice full head of hair till the end of her life, so I'm taking a page from her book. And after experiencing what this brush is capable of, I'm excited about seeing more improvements in my scalp and hair. One thing to note: the bristles on this brush are true first cut boar bristle- and they are stiff. I really like this, as I have been trying to find a boar bristle brush with bristles that are of a decent stiffness. This stiffness gives me the ability to give my scalp a really effective exfoliation. If I want less exfoliation, I just use a lighter hand to brush. So if you have thick hair, and other boar bristle brushes won't reach your scalp, these bristles are absolutely going to get down to your scalp- no problem. --And- I am *very* pleased with the fantastic service from Pasteur Pharmacy. I am so happy I found them! Prior to placing my order- my first with them- I emailed them with a question, and got a reply within half an hour. That's some great customer service. Shipping was lightning fast, and my item was packed safely. Also Pasteur's price for this brush can't be beat. This is going to be the first of many orders I will be placing with them, I am sure. If you are on the fence about ordering this brush, as I was, and thinking paying this much for a hairbrush is absurd- these hairbrushes are in a category all their own. I know I am going to have this brush for many, many years. In one use, it has completely outperformed any brush I have ever tried. It's like comparing pro baseball to t-ball. There *is* no comparison. All I can tell you is, this brush is 100% worth its price. It does not come with the cleaning brush, as other Mason Pearson brushes do, but it does come with very specific and useful instructions on how to care for the brush. I am very pleased with my purchase.
